NICK RODMAN HONORED ON AMERICAN PALE ALE CANS
Goodwood Brewing announced earlier this year that the packaging for their new American Pale Ale will honor fallen American Heroes— with a portion of the proceeds from each case or draft sold going to the charity selected by the hero’s family. Starting this week, Goodwood will honor Louisville, Kentucky Officer Nick Rodman, with proceeds going to The Louisville Metro Police Foundation.
Officer Rodman had served with the Louisville Metro Police Department for three years. On March 29, 2017 Police Officer Nick Rodman succumbed to injuries sustained in a vehicle crash at the intersection of 26th and Duncan Streets during a vehicle pursuit. His father and brother also work for the department. Officer Rodman is survived by his wife, son, and daughter.
The American Pale Ale cans and draft tags will bear the name of Officer Nick Rodman as well as his end of watch date March 29, 2017. This will be another way for the community to celebrate the life and continued legacy of Officer Nick Rodman.
“We wanted to pay homage to our American Heroes that made the ultimate sacrifice— in our community as well as the communities we distribute in. We also wanted to honor the families who have lost loved ones in the line of duty. It’s a small gesture we can make to say thank you to these men and women who made an enormous sacrifice on behalf of their country and their communities,” said CEO Ted Mitzlaff.
Goodwood’s American Pale Ale is aged on poplar and brewed with seven hop varieties. The 5.7 ABV brew features a hop-forward, floral bouquet, that’s balanced perfectly by the caramel malts providing pleasingly sweet, malty backbone.
